Our Group is the social counterpart of the 'Rumbling Bald Resort Property Owners Association.

As of June, 2018, we updated our name and
re-energized our mission to provide our members with better communications, and an enjoyable and convenient membership experience.

As a non-profit organization, we are focused on creating fun events open to all members.

The Specifics

Who We Are


Membership in the group is totally voluntary, and open to anyone in the Rumbling Bald/Lake Lure area.

We have been in existence since the early ‘ 80’s. Our dues are currently $35 per household. Members elect a (separate) Board of Directors who provide the governance of the HOA, assisted by an Events Coordinator, a Program Committee and other volunteers who perform task-specific support functions (Membership Director, Reservationist, Decorations Committee, etc.). Our fiscal year runs March thru February.

What We Do


The HOA plans a number of social events each year, most of which are open exclusively to members and their guests. Events include a complete sit-down meal, served either table-side (with choice up to three entree selections) or buffet-style. Our cost includes superb entertainment, gratuity, and taxes. A limited number of socials may also be open to the public (such as the Octoberfest), or held jointly with other organizations.

Dues underwrite and / or subsidize the cost of these events and make it possible for the HOA to put on a variety of functions designed with the attributes of fun, quality, and camaraderie at a great value! The cost, per dinner, is generally less than or comparable to similar "specials" at local restaurants where taxes, gratuities, and entertainment are NOT included.

We also keep in touch with hard copy, mailed newsletters, email blasts through the the year, about our ‘ socials ‘, as well as this open member website.


What The POA Is


Membership in the Property Owners Association (POA) is generally mandatory for all property owners within the resort. The POA (Property Owners association) is controlled by owners through an elected Board of Directors.
Thus, the POA is the business entity which is responsible for management of resort-provided services, amenities, maintenance, infrastructure needs, capital improvements, etc. Your annual dues are a required cost of being a Rumbling Bald property or time-share owner, and, along with revenue from various business operations of the Resort, fund the resort's operations.
